Dear Penguin,
I'm sorry to hear you feel this way about Facebook. I understand it's difficult to see and read happy messages, especially when you feel low. What people often don't post is what's going on behind closed doors; their insecurities, their tears.
I'd be happy to talk to you about it, if you want. As well as all the other listeners would be, I'm sure. We can try and think with you about ways how to deal with this, and not letting it get to you as much.
All the best!
Dear Aurora02 thank you so much for your reply. Would be great if we can talk about it, I used to be a very cheerful person, and just hoping the best for everyone, but lately i am just angry, depress and feeling empty all the time, I dont know how to communicate with others, and I dont want them to know how i really feel.
Hello, Penguin.
Would you like to talk about it? Free anytime, give me a beep.
"The reason we struggle with insecurity is because we compare our behind-the-scenes with everyone else?s highlight reel." - Steve Furtick.
Well said Chillnhigga, we see our full picture, but we only see the picture people radiate about themselves :)
Penguin, I posted a message: feel free to message me so we can set up a time to connect, or chat with me if I'm online and free. But it got lost somewhere it seems.
Social Media encourages a "stalking" behavioramong all of us. We are constantly envious of one another while surfing everyone's profile pages. Through all these we compare a little too much which those presumably are more successful than us in their career, love, family life.
The concept of keeping in touch with friends and family becomes a legal stalking site. Well of course there are pros and cons, depending on the user, do everything in moderation.
You are totally right Dan, social media can be a site that stares up cmpetiton, this could be healthy or not. Also, the stalking behaviour could lead to depression because you tend to compare yourselves to other. One thing to remember is that things are not always as they seem. People put up a front and show the world what they want them to see even if in reality, things aren't going on so well with them. Considering what society is turning into, it is becoming a norm to have there feelings.
