I'm so burnt out
It seems like I have no energy for anything anymore. I can't socialise. I can't work. I force myself to because life keeps happening whether I like it or not but I'm just too exhausted. It's even tiring to try and eat. I could feel hungry but the act of putting effort to eat is exhausting to think of. Putting energy to try and sleep is hard as well. Everything is just too much and not enough at the same time.
It's awful being in that state. Is it possible for you to take a break? Perhaps a two day trip to some village to relax? Whatever works best for you. It's hard recovering from being burnt out but it's crucial to take a break during this time and re-evaluate the things you are doing in you life or how you are doing them. It's not healthy to put too much pressure on yourself, although our society supports that.
I hope you have better days soon. Take care.
I really want to but its quite difficult. I'm in my last year of college in Engineeing and my midterms are coming up soon. That and alot project sumbissions and work that I cannot ignore. I also have a difficult home life where I'm constantly taking care of my elderly parents. Ever since my sister left home all the work is on me. My friends have been such great support systems and I love them to bits but I don't want to overly burden them with my issues (though they tell me otherwise) because I don't want them to only know me as the depressed guy. I'm more vulnerable around them than anyone in my entire 22 years of life but still it's hard sometimes not to fall back into old habits.
Thank you for your concern and listening <3

I can relate to all of these, I frequently suffer from them.
I am having therapy and medication, and open up to my trusted friends and tell them that I have depression without feeling shame.
Also, I try to eat, sleep well and go out, and I play video games especially the non-scary ones like horror games, I play a games like FIFA and Battlefield.
I don't think about the job, the career, I think only about my disease and its treatment.
I try to commit to prayer.
I listen to my favorite music.
Sometimes I go to my mom's bed and set or sleep next to her, although I am in the 20s but no shame at that.
I participate in online communities like this one, watch TV and Youtube videos about different topics like Soccer, Gaming, Music,...etc
I bought a bike and go out biking.
I have a belief that my disease will not defeat me, I accepted the challenge of mental-illness and I see it as a gift to rebuild myself as I aspire not as my parents or society wants.
And I know that there are other people sufferning from depression like me, and there are alot who recovered from it.
I can relate to the mom thing I do the same! All these methods are things I've employed my entire life and they do help. And since last year I've had such great friends that accept and love fully. Unconditionally. And I don't want their love to go to waste so I want to be better. It's just recently has been too much and i sadly do not have access or the resources to seek professional help. I wish I did to pursue it but sadly all I can do is small things on my own and depend on my friends but that worries me a lot because I don't want them to think of me as a burden. I want to laugh and be happy with them like they are with each other
@Decim25
I have no resources to seek a professional help, too.
I am going to a governmental mental hospital for therapy sessions, it's free.
And I have a psychiatrist that helps me friendly for no money because he supports me and my mother.
I tried to read books and treat myself in the past, imagining that nobody would help without a lot of money, but there are people who give a high-quality professional help for free.
Just look for a free treatment at your country, and your friends or family can help you find one.
I am sure you'd find a free-treatment, don't give up please, I was there and I am telling you that.
You feel guilty for letting your friends down, I learnt that the only scenario that you should feel guilty about is doing something that contradicts your values. It's good to appreciate your friend's love, but you are becoming better just for YOURSELF. Don't improve yourself in order to please anybody because that is toxic even if you have loving friends.
Start with the eating and sleeping. Even if it feels exhausting to eat, do it anyway. Keep trying to rest whenever you can.
You will get through this rough spot. Just don't look down too much. @Decim25
