I really just need a guide / starting point

Long story short, I just can't get my stuff together. I have regular emotional / nervous breakdowns. Crying fits. I got laid off from my design job (in which I was making crap money anyway) and now I'm working a minimum wage job where I make800-1ka month (living in Boston, my rent alone is 800). I've applied for new jobs like crazy and I am getting no call backs. I've redone my portfolio / resume / website a thousand times and nothing is biting.

I owe a ton to the IRS because I took out money from an IRA to pay of my loans which were defaulting. Which bumped me up a tax bracket and I got extremely penalized because I didn't realize I wasn't supposed to touch that money.

I don't know what to do. I have no health insurance. I need therapy I think, maybe even medication but I can barely afford anything right now. I can't get a new apartment because my credit / pay is so bad nobody in their right mind would give me a lease. It's affecting all my friendships / family relationships / romantic relationship. I've gained like 30 pounds since this all started.

I'm so unhappy. I'm so overwhelmed. I don't know what to do. Where to start, where to go, who to talk to. I feel like I've pushed everybody away who I'd normally talk to about these things.

I don't want to be like this anymore

What can I do?

I'm so sorry to hear you're going through all of this.

Maybe you can talk with one of the listeners to help you go through it step by step.

You can also refer to:https://therapists.psychologytoday.com/

If you need more help ^^

Hope that helps somesmiley

Hello! I'm so sorry to hear you're dealing with all this, that is a really tough situation. You're very brave for sharing this with us, thank you. You mentioned you think you could benefit from therapy, but don't have the resources right now. Is there a way you could get access to a therapist for free, even if temporarily? I don't know if it's at all possible where you live, but maybe asking for options in your local health providing services could help? Alternatively, there is blahtherapy (https://blahtherapy.com/). You pay 25 dollars for a licensed therapist though, so that might not be an option. Another website ishttps://www.talkspace.com/. I'm not 100% sure how it works, but you get to at least initiate a discussion with a therapist for free. The direct counseling option herehttps://www.mytherapycouch.com/ might also be worth trying. In case your circumstances change, there is a website to find a therpist in your areahttps://locator.apa.org/.

There are also helplines, if you think that talking to someone might benefit you more than a chat. For examplehttps://www.contact-usa.org/programs.html

Or, as you know, you can always connect to a listner here :) Good luck!
