I'm 14 struggling to fit in. I'm a freshman in high school. It's so hard to juggle school work, friends, home stress, sports all at once. I recently went through something tragic and I go to threapy. She told me I have generalized anxiety disorder & paranoid personality disorder. She gives me ways to cope with it but the anxiety wont end

Justine, I'm sorry you feel this way. I know the teen years can be overwhelming. What I can tell you is slow down. Pray to God and ask him to direct your path. He is just a prayer away.

Short answer, is Yes, it is possible to overcome anxiety. It can take lots of hard work, perserverance, and extra help to get to that point though. I promise you though, 'this too shall pass'.

I know its not easy being a teen and having to handle so much. But, it does get easier, I promise. It may be hard now, but soon you'll think back and you will miss being a teen. Just take it day by day, don't stress over the little things. My uncle used to ask me when Ihad a problem, "How are you going to eat this elephant?" I would always respond "one bite at a time." And that's just how you gotta look at life. One day at a time. Don't crowd your schedule, you need some you time too. But, trust me, it does it better in time.

The first step is identifying, so well done on passing this great hurdle. Seeking help is a good way to overcome, on communities such as this one and on other websites. There are also a range of self help CBT courses out there if that is something you are interested in. Getting to know your options and trying out what works for you is also a good way to go. It's also good to identify your triggers and work on ways to minimise or resolve the effects of these.
