I really don't know how to describe my situation, because it will sound like anyone else's story if I tell the short version, but I'm not strong enough to write longer version, because I can't move ! I just want to ask you what do you think, what sympthomsshould you have or how you should feel when it's maybe time to get anti-depressants ?

Hello! That is a really individual question. Everyone is different and has different symptoms of depression. What I will say is that, in general, if you yourself feel like your depression is interfering with your day-to-day life in a significant way and you feel it's stopping you from the things you'd love to be doing, but cannot, it might be time to consider medication. However, there are also several different types of anti-depressants, you can take different dosages etc, so that is something only a trained professional can help you with. It might be a good idea to talk to a psychiatrist, tell them how you feel, and let them offer you the best option for you. Good luck!

Well, if I may suggest something, you can consider medicationif you find your depressive symptoms really hindering you in your way of life. If you can still somewhat manage it, you might consider getting therapy from a counsellor or a psychologist instead. Like Cognitive Behavior Therapy or Psychotherapy, which pretty are much the traditional forms of "talking therapies".

Reason I suggested therapy because there are always side-effects to different psychotropic medications though the most common ones are reversible and well, there are side effects that are rather serious, especially if your body would not be compatible to the drug.

Just saying this because I have a friend who sees a medical practitioner who prescribed him a drug and didn't discuss the side-effects.

Anyway, if you really do think that medications are a better option for therapy then, you should seek a psychiatrist about it. Medications are time-savers, though. And works quite fast.

My reply is rather lengthy. Hahaha. I wish this would provide a slight insight.

Cheerios! :)
