It's like an endless battle

I've been struggling with depression and anxiety for as long as I can remember. Naturally, over the last several years I've been through a lot of ups and downs. Recently, however, I've come back down. This past year has been one of the hardest I've ever had to face, and I'm constantly thinking about running away somehow. I've been used by my family, cheated on by significant other, and left with nothing of my own except for my dog. All I want is an escape route, to get out of this bad situation so I can focus on rebuilding myself, but it seems impossible. I'm so tired.

@Ladydarkprint Having a dog can be all a girl needs! :) I'm honestly not being flippant, my pets are my family and I am so happy to not have to deal with people at the end of the day.

But you have been through a LOT, and when you struggle with depression and anxiety, those situations can certainly make it harder to cope. Aside from running away, what might make your situation better? Have you talked to a doctor about it?

Looking back, if I was just going through a rough time that would pass, I could have a good cry and feel better, or go see a movie or concert and that would give me a boost. But there were times that absolutely nothing lightened the grey, and I do believe if I had gotten treatment, it would have helped a lot. (I finally did, after decades, and it did.)
