Judgement and Redemption

The most powerful affirmation I have come up with in the past few months is one that is biblical in its nature. While I am not religious in any length, I am still slightly influenced because of my upbringing. For those of us raised in faith, we are often taught that the Lord is the ultimate Judge, the adjudicator who weighs our sins and punishes us accordingly for them. The saving grace is that the Judge is also the Redeemer. I have come to the realization that since I do not believe in any god, I am my own lord and savior.

Since I am my own judge, the one who punishes me for my past sins, then I can one day learn to offer myself absolution. I feel that too many people believe that forgiveness is the first step, I believe that it is the last. Forgiveness is a conditional offer, one that requires certain prerequisites to be met. When an inmate seeks clemency from a parole board, he must show remorse for his actions, and promise for change. I feel remorse for my poor choices, shortcomings, and overall stupidity, mediocrity, and self destruction. I am still working on the second part, where I show promise for change. Maybe you can too.

Affirmations you can use:

I am my own Judge and Redeemer.

It is human to err, and divine to forgive

** I thought I'd post a few long entries of things I believe might help one or two people out there. These are my opinions and my opinions alone, no one has to like them, read everything, or agree with me. This is for those who are like me, and not like the others. **

Oh, I absolutely love this one. Your entries are wonderful. You have such great insight and you put it into words in a magnificent. I love the affirmations you offered. I think I shall be reminding myself of the last one. "It is human to err, it is divine to forgive." Indeed.

Have a nice day heart

@EastAfrique

You mention on your long posts not minding if people don't read them. Would you be okay if I made it easier for people to read this one? I mean, by making it the featured thread. Or, I could use a different one of your threads or I could not use one of your threads if that makes you uncomfortable.
