I have been going through a lot lately. My divorce was finallized in February. My ex still sees the kids every week....has them every other weekend, so he is still very much a part of my life. Makes it hard on me sometimes. He is still very negative towards me, and the kids at times. Work has been hard....I got a promotion last August but never got the raise. I have been making little mistakes here and there that make it impossible for me to ask for the raise I deserve. Small mistakes and most of them are from poor training in my new possition, but either way it makes asking for a raise nearly impossible. But try telling that to my ex. I have electrical and other valuable training from the Navy so why don't I get a job using that and making twice as much money he always says. Then my health has been....well terrible. But I am working on that. Last weekend I got into a car accident. My fault too. Well ok so it was the wet roads and not the best tires on my car that are really at fault but still. Car was towed and is in NY, I live in PA. I owe 500 for the deductable....500 that I don't even have part of....not even a penny.

So why you ask did I tell you all this? Easy. As of today less than a week after my accident. I finally have good news.

1- My car is worth more than we thought.....like 4000 more.

2- The damage is less than the cars worth so all I owe is 500 thats it

3- My credit rating went up

4- I got approved for a credit card and can now pay that 500 dollars over time instead of one shot

5- I got approved to refinance my car , thus saving me over 100 a month

I did all that on my own. No help from my ex. No help from friends or family. Just me. I can now do something for my kids for christmas and birthdays that are coming up. I can finally say that things are getting better and not have to worry that a brick will fall on my head any second. Things in my life aren't perfect. Not by any means. But if I look at the small little things in life and remember them it can change my outlook every day.

If I can find the possitive in my life so can you. And trust me I'm not even coming close to telling you everythng that has been going on. Thats just some of the things. So chin up my lovelies.....look for something possitive in your life. Even if it is that you got out of bed today. Or that you didn't break a nail today.....something good. You may be amazed as to what else you can find good.

@Navylady

Wow I just gave you a thumbs up, but that post deserves a lot more- you go girl! We CAN do so much more than we think. I've been through some tough stuff too and I am always happy when I "make" myself do something on my own that I really don't feel like doing. The payoff is worth it all. Thank you for sharing and I will say a little prayer that things will continue to go up and up for you and the children.

@Navylady that's so awesome that things are looking up! I'm glad you are finding that you have what it takes to change things and take control. Thanks for this wonderful message. It's so wonderful realizing that there are things in your life you CAN control amongst all the stuff that seems to be going wrong. Take care and thanks again.

@Navylady

Well done to you sweetheart, you deserve all the good luck the world can offer you! I think sometimes especially when we're at are most challenging times, some people may relish in the fact that we may wobble and fall down, now.....the beauty of falling is, we get back up, and even stronger! And the wobbling along the way, well, this is like a steering wheel, leading us through the best direction isn't it!

Never underestimate the power and determination of a single parent, because more often than not, our children bring us confidrnce☺

Again, well done, I think your managing perfectly fine! Now, go and enjoy birthdays, Christmas and your wonderful children ❤
