Lack of motivation?
In the past few months I have stumbled into feeling a lack of wanting to do anything. It is not lack of interest. I am interested in many things. I just don't want to do them. Like everything requires effort and why do these things if I am perfectly content just doing something that requires less effort to do (like reading at home). It has been getting worse progressively, to the point that if I have to make a decision it all feels like a toss of a coin, I don't care either way. I still try to make myself do things even though I feel like I don't want to put on the effort to do them because I know I will enjoy them while doing them. But it is weird to not want to do anything.
@LastStone
I am glad you are putting in the effort for things you know you will enjoy, even if you don't have the motivation to do it! It is hard to live with these moments without motivation. I hope that you continue to be strong and this moment passes soon! *hugs* Good luck Stone!
I read a book in motivation, there's basically two tricks you can use to create motivation within a task, since motivation to finish a task comes naturally once the task is started-- so here are the major tricks.
1. Create a routine: once you establish a habit it will become harder to quit it or find excuses for it.
2. Make the task so simple that its impossible to say no-- make having completed a task easier than not having completed it. A good way is to make your task small (like putting on gym clothes or drawing a singel line) and work up to the larger tasks.
When I want to draw i turn on the kettle and make a hot drink, and as it cools i get my drawing stuff together and draw a small bee. By the time my drink cools i hardly touch it. To exercise i put my gym clothes on first thing when i wake up, to where i feel silly if i dont go running.
Fight human nature with human nature.
@LastStone Good luck! Sending positive thoughts your way :) <3
@LastStone I don't know if this will help, but usually watching videos of people doing the things I love motivates me into doing them too. I hope you feel motivated soon!
I know how you feel. sometimes it just seems like too much. i hope you are able to stay strong and work through this hurdle. you will overcome!
