Maybe it's just me

Does anyone else isolate themselves then feel really lonely later on? I don't have any friends and it's all my fault due to my constant isolation, yet I enjoy being alone. I feel more alone around a bunch of people then I do by myself. I would like to be able to make friends like I used to but I feel like I no longer possess the emotions or passion to do so. I just don't know anymore.

@Trueloner427539 I understand, and am in this situation as well. A combination of anxiety, depression, and bpd keep me from making new connections because of a fear of getting hurt. And even with friends I do have, I tend to cut connections if I feel like they even slightly dislike me, which probably isn't even true and is just all in my head. It's a hard cycle to break out of and a neverending work in progress, but I just try and remember that going through life and shouldering all the burden on your own is more painful and can stretch you too thin.

@Trueloner427539 @limegreencoconut874 I can absolutely relate with you guys. I know how hard is to deal with social withdrawal because we often feel like, whenever we're in a group of people, an outcast or not really belong to the group. And we're also worried about how other people might think of us or it's because we have these intrusive thoughts that hinder us to mingle with other people. But I want you to know that it's okay to feel at peace in solitude. It's okay to enjoy being alone. With that, you're able to discover more of the things about yourself and focus on bettering yourself, right? You guys aren't alone. We're on the same boat! Though it can really be challenging to find friends who we can lean on and who'd be supportive to us, you don't have to carry all these hardships all by yourself.
