Mentally exhausted
Yesterday was the funeral for my partner's great grandfather, funerals are hard for me, but I decided I needed to be there for him. I lost my parents at a young age and being at this funeral sucked the life out of me. I had so many memories return to me from my own mother's funeral and I just feel so emotionally numb all over again. I can't shake it, everyone is mourning the loss and I feel as though addressing these triggers would be selfish. I'm at a loss and just completely drained mentally.

I am so sorry memories were brought back. you need to also take care of yourself.
@SharkieDearest I am truly sorry for the memories that were brought back. It is so important to take care of yourself, both emotionally and mentally. Remember to practice self-care and to be gentle with yourself. These memories can be difficult to process, but you are strong and you can get through this.
You sound a lot like me. Extreme empathy for others is a blessing but it is also a curse. I can get set off my almost anything. Give yourself time to rest and recover and remind yourself that caring for others comes from your heart. It is okay to come out drained sometimes. @SharkieDearest
I tend to be a bit sensitive, I feel like a walking ball of emotions sometimes. 😅
Exactly and though it is painful, it is a blessing. Imagine going around with no feelings and hurting people. @SharkieDearest
I don't like the thought of having no feelings. Lol sounds very hollow. 😅
Yup. Feeling something means you are alive. In pain, but alive. @SharkieDearest
You aren’t selfish! I love that you were there for your partner. You seem like a genuine person. Take some time to be alone and be thankful for life. It helps me
