Mentally exhausted and blurgh πŸ˜•πŸ˜©

Does anyone else feel like they just want to go and curl up in bed with the lights off and just sleep through the days? Laying in a dark and quiet room sounds so good right now. Unfortunately, being aum, I dont have time for that πŸ˜• im struggling today. How is everyone else doing? On the 1to1 messaging, can members message eachother? Also, im looking for a listener.. I need to get all this stufd off my shoulders and chest and finally deal with my issues. Sending love and hugs to everyone πŸ€—β€

I'm sorry you're having such a bad time. I know exactly how you feel.. being curled up in bed is my safe space. I don't know about the 121 messaging, I'm new on here I'm afraid. I just relate to how you feel and as a parent also.. its impossible to make time for my mental health as I need to be superman for my child. As ypu know, they are a million times more important. You're doing great though. Just recognising how ypu feel is thw first step. You got this πŸ’ͺ

Thank you for your reply, I was worried that I wouldnt get one. Yes, bed is definitely my safe space too. Im also new too. I hope there is 1to1 messaging between members. Yeah I totally understand, your childs needs come before yours, but there is never any time for your needs or self care. Being a parent is hard enough without struggling with mental health. Thank you for reaching out, I really appreciate it 😊

Please don't thank me. Its nice to see that other people are in my shoes.. not that I wish anxiety on anyone at all. Just helps to feel less alone with it if ypu know what I mean. I hope they have 121 messaging. Would be nice. I hope your day is getting better. Even though you're struggling, to be able to acknowledge it is a great start though 😁 you can do this. We all can do this

Sorry, I've been in a bad place today. Stuck in a loop if that makes sense. Trying to get free of it. I don't know how to message just members either. I tried looking through the website and googling it but I can't make sense of it πŸ˜•. How are you feeling today?

Thank you for your reply. Sorry you are not great today. I hope ypu feel better as the day goes on. As you say you've got to keep going, it's not easy though I'm 32, dad to a wonderful little boy. I have a very specific anxiety about cold sores, had them on and off for 10 years ish. Probably sounds stupid, but it controls my life and depresses the hell out of me. It feels like I'm doomed to forever be like this and that this is my life now. All I long for is to feel normal. Normal is such an underrated word. It stops me doing most things. I'm terrified of them and I'm constantly cleaning because of it. It makes me not want to see people etc. But being on my own in my own mind is a very dangerous place. I have tried therapy and bits, but I usually get too scared to follow through with it. That's why I wanted to try this, I can talk to people in the comfort of my safe space and know that these people, although not the same issue as me, have the same feelings. I'll stop there before I rant forever 🀣 if you feel comfortable to, I'm more than happy to listen if you need to get anything out. Thanks again for your reply

Thank you. Im so sorry to hear that you have this anxiety that is controlling your life. Its not stupid at all. Its real, dont ever think that its stupid. Taking refuge inside your own head is comfortable at first but then it becomes too comfortable and, like you say, dangerous. Therapy is so hard to get on woth sometimes. Ive tried therapy a few times and ive always chickened out too. Thats what i like about this app too. Ill listen to you rant anytime 😊 of course.. I am 25, a mum to a beautiful 2 year old boy, I live in the UK. I have suffered from depression and anxiety since I was 13. I got diagnosed at the age of 13 and went onto medication at the age of 15. I still havent got to grips with it all, im not better. Its literally been controlling my life for 12 years. My childhood wasnt too good, thats just one of the factors. Last night, I started having the urge to shave my head and harm myself physically. I still have the urges now. They become obsessive urges. I spoke to my GP today and hes put me on a second antidepressant and a mild sedative. I was so anxious about reaching out for help but im so glad I did. I need to get better for my baby boy. No worries, expect more replies 😊😁

Thank you for replying. I get nervous about admitting what my issue is. I know there are so many things that are worse in this world, but to me this is hell. I had not a great child hood and was.. living rough for a few years.. it made me develop mad depression and a fear of germs. So to get something I cannot cure is like my worst nightmare that came true. It makes me so fearful of any form of relationship, which in turn causes me unreal depression being alone. A lovely cycle... I also live in the UK and have been on and off medication for as long as I can remember. Some work, some don't, as I'm sure you know. Im really sorry you are having these thoughts, but well done for speaking to your GP. I know that's never easy, but that's really great and I hope, until something more permanent for you can be done, the medication helps. (I hope that we'll done comes across as sincere as I mean it) You will get better. Today was such a big step and I'm really happy for you that you took it 😁 I know the pressure of being a parent and that need to be better for you child. I have had similar urges and still get them. I have a photo of my son in a frame that has 'I need my daddy' written on it. I wrote it myself and its heartbreaking to look at, but it snaps me back from the harming thoughts. That's just a personal thing I use. I get unbelievable guilt for having these thoughts which in turn makes me more depressed. Its really, really hard. So talking to your GP is such an amazing thing. Honestly, please be proud of yourself. You are worth it

I do too, I feel like I need to be mentally and emotionally stable otherwise people will think im a complete mess and I cant take care of my son. I hide my depression and anxiety so well that people dont even notice. Living rough must have been difficult and terrifying! Im glad youre back on your feet. Oh my gosh, thats sods law isnt it! How ironic! If you dont mind me asking, where abouts do you live in the UK? I love in East Sussex. Yeah its all about finding the right medication for you. Did you find one that works for you? Thank you, I really appreciate that. Its so damn hard to fight with my depression daily and now im fighting these harmful urges. Its hard work and im bloody exhausted. Thank you, youre so kind! I hate the pressure of being a parent, but i suppose it comes with the job. Wouldnt change my little boy foe the world though. Its so hard to fight your way away from the urges isnt it? Its a vicious circle, seems neverending. I believe that you will conquer your depression and your anxiety, so that youll be able to take control your life again. You are strong, you just dont feel it right now.. ill give you what strength I have. Thank you so much ❀

Hiding it becomes.. almost easy I find. I have so many habits that I've got into so nobody knows.. I'm terrified of admiting how bad I feel incase someone tells me I can't parent. My son is the only thing that keeps me going. So it makes it so scary to seek help. The medication I'm on now is meant to be a good one, but it's new so I need to give it time to work. The last one I felt like I'd almost got used to it. The depression was too overpowering. I live in Hertfordshire. I also apologise if my replies are jumbled, it's like thoughts come and go so I type as I think. You said how hard it is to fight your depression and now your fighting these urges.. Key word in that.. fighting. You ARE fighting. And that makes you strong, even if you don't feel it (sorry to copy you) and your strength is like a superpower. Because if you can fight this.. there is nothing you can't fight. And you will win. As hard as it feels, you are winning. You won when you wrote the post instead of acting upon them. You won again when you called your GP. And you are winning now by talking. Thank you for your messages again. They have really helped and made me feel like I'm notbalone in this world. That's another win for you there. You're on a roll 😊

Oh yeah, it becomes automatic to hide it. Put on a fake face and no one second guesses. I feel the same. I feel so much shame. But I believe that you are a good parent and I bet your son adores you. Have faith in yourself and dont care what other people think. My son is who keeps me going too. I felt like that with Sertraline, now my GP has put me on Mirtazapine, so now I take both. I dont know where Hertfordshire is 🀣 dont apologise, its okay! Thats a very good point but I fear I will lose the fight. Youre never alone, you have a new friend (me obviously). Haha, maybe we could find eachother on facebook?

Sertraline didn't help me either. I'm not on Fluoxetine. I hope it fairs better. Isn't it funny how we can say these positive things to other people and be encouraging, but I can't tell myself, I can't convince myself. I truly believe everything I have said to you, you will win etc.. but if I tried saying it to myself.. it does nothing. Haha thank you. You've been a great help. That would be nice, but I Felsted all social media a few years ago. I effectively asked for help on there and was given the opposite. So completely came off it as at thw time it very nearly pushed me over the edge. I worry so much about other people opinions of me which I know deep down is stupid. I think we all fear losing the fight. But you're really doing amazing. And in a few days or so, the medication will help. And then hopefully, if Boris doesn't move his goalposts again, in a couple of months some form of normality will start to come back and maybe ypu can get some face to face with someone to help even more 😊

I also have seen your other post and just wanted to say you should be really proud of yourself. Being able to admit to having thoughts like that is extremely difficult. Believe it or not, it makes you incredibly strong being able to voice that. You should be proud of yourself for contacting your GP also. I really hope they can do something for you. Thats a great first step. You are certainly not a bad Mum for having these difficulties either, not at all. I hope you are OK

Thank you so so so much for your kind words. I really appreciate them. My GP has put me on a second antidepressant and a mild sedative and then once the world resembles some normality, hes going to help me persue the right therapy for me. I get sooo much mum guilt like everyday. I just want to be better for my son

I cant reply directly to your last post so I just added another one 🀣 Sertraline does help me to an extent, it keeps me on an even keel some of the time but im on the highest dose of Sertraline so I cant go any higher, hence why my GP gave me Mirtazapine. Sorry about not replying last night, the Mirtazapine knocks me right out πŸ₯΄πŸ˜΄ Fluoxetine didnt work for me, I was on it for years but it just didnt do anything. Yeah, im exactly the same! I know how to advise people and those words apply to me too, but no way do I believe myself if I told them to myself. In a way, we are our own worst enemies. Aw okay, I understand that. Social media can be super toxic!! Its not stupid to worry about what other people think and their opinions of you, I worry about that everyday. In this day and age, I think its normal.. although it shouldnt be. But with society being more toxic ever, its no wonder we do worry about it. Thank you. Yes, all we can do is hope. Althoygh I can be quite a pessimist. What is it that you need? I think CBT would be good for you. Maybe try reading a book about CBT or see if there are any apps on CBT? And if you feel that it is right for you, then persue a CBT therapist? Have you got a suport system? Someone or people that you can speak with to get you out of certain funks and down times?

Don't apologise. You're right about society being toxic. The worlds worst invention was social media in my opinion. It just gives a platform for people to spout hate from behind a keyboard and makes people far too consciousof other people's opinions. I'll see how I get on with flouxitine. I'm actually doing some CBT at the moment. It's early days, today will be my third session. I'm not enjoying it atm but I will continue with it as I know long term it will help. How are you feeling today?
