Hi everyone!

Back in November 2017 when i was at my lowest low, I self harmed a lot. Most of my scars of back then have faded, however there is one scar that won't. I cut on another cut which is I believe why it was bigger - now I have a big scar in the middle of my arm and It really brings me down.
It has faded a bit since but it is still really visible. I am trying my best to feel better and it is working, I've been getting help, but this scar is the one of the last few things that puts me to the ground when I'm trying to stand up. A lot of people say they are a sign of strenght and that you've survived but I can't agree with that. I don't want these demons engraved on my body forever. I don't want to sound over dramatic, so I don't really say it and pretend it's not here but I know it is. I want to take a new step and a new start and I can't with this on me.
What should I do?

Hi! I have some self-harm scars too and I can relate to this! I understand how you're feeling and why they're bringing you down.

Unfortunately though, I think your options are a bit low. You can -

- Find a way to accept that it's there. This can be looking at it as a sign of strength; but it could also be looking at it as "Hey, I was in a really bad place and I don't want this anymore so I'm not going back or doing this anymore".

- Get a tattoo. Obviously this is a big decision and not one that should be taken lightly, but I know that it's helped others in being able to reframe that experience.

- Look into scar removal services. These are super common and can make a big difference in reducing the appearance of the scars.
