blah... I give up.. Can't publish my story.. :( I keep getting the you may be in crisis message... :(
now how do I delete this thread?
@Exabit
Hello--I have the same thing happen with some of my posts. This indicates that there's some word or phrase in your post that the 7Cups filter thinks is indicating that you're in a state of crisis. If you can figure out what the word is and rewrite it (or add punctuation to it so that the filter no longer recognizes it), you can get by that way with trial and error.
Usually what I do is write my posts in Notepad and then paste into 7Cups when I'm done. That way I have my own copy in case if the site decides to delete everything I've written.
Of course, if you really are in a super-desperate state of crisis, then the filter has some validity (i.e. the 7Cups community isn't trained to deal with crisis intervention/suicide prevention, so it's best to go to another site with volunteers/helpers who are specifically trained in that).

Hi, I have a saved copy in my word document.. :) I have tried censoring all the possible words and rephrase most sentences, but I still can't get pass the "crisis mode"... lol
@Exabit Oh yuck, I'm sorry. Only suggestion I can make other than to keep searching is to try posting it in a few smaller posts/chunks until you're able to identify which specific bit it doesn't like.
I am 37 years old, and I have been suffering from depression for several years now. I was also suicidal before, but now somehow my depression has toned down... I am a single dad, where I am also the sole guardian of my child. The mom doesn't support us at all, although she would take our child during school vacations.
I believe my depression started when me and my wife started our falling out. That was when I tried doing it, for 4 times… All of those failed, and I just couldn't do it. On my last attempt, I drank silver cleaner... I drank it with some antihistamine and Coke... When I woke up the next morning, I felt fine and nothing happened to me, Somehow, I was able to vomit everything I drank. I also felt and saw the sun's ray directly on me (I stayed there for a few months and never did the sun shine on me, and I am an atheist), you can call it what you want but this gave me new hope, and I never tried committing s***** anymore.
Few years later, after several failures with relationships, here I am again. Although this time, as I am the only person my child can rely on, suicide is no longer an option for me. I do from time to time would wish for all of this to be over...
Two reasons why I feel this way are love and money. I easily fall in love with a girl, and when I do, I do give my all. However, I keep falling for the wrong person or I just couldnt make it work. While for money, I do have a stable job, I get to earn, but somehow it is not enough for me and my child. We don't really spend much, and I'm trying to be able to give my child the best education there is. To the point where I don't have any left for me anymore. Now, every time I go on dates, my mind would always ask, what's the point of doing these, when I won't be able to afford marrying this girl at all. Every time I court a girl, I would also break down once rejected… I am one of those who long or wish for that happily ever after…
I am someone who smiles a lot, but deep down, I feel very lonely. There are days where I would just skip work and sleep or watch TV all day… I would always think on why I cant find my happiness, or why I cant be happy with love… I feel alone and would sometimes randomly message a stranger in a dating app just to be able to talk to someone… I am most probably the same as the others, who still feels incomplete even with great people surrounding us every day…
Sometimes, I would think that all these things happening to me are all bad karma to what I have done. When my ex was pregnant with our child, we tried to have it aborted… I know I have also broken other hearts; I even know of 2 other girls whom I got pregnant but never did own the child. There are others I believe, but never did I bother knowing… I have stolen money, and even did some other stuff that could have gone very very wrong… But if it is karma, when would these end… It is very frustrating to see, that there are other people worst than me, but are able to enjoy their life… I do feel tired and want to give up, if not only for my child…
@Exabit
What you're sharing makes sense. Want to just confirm I'm understanding.
You started feeling depressed because of conflict with wife. At that point, it made you want to end things. Now, although you sometimes feel really unhappy in the same way, you also feel like ending things isn't an option since you need to take care of your child. Like, that's a priority and something important to you, and you'll keep living for that. Even if maybe you wouldn't really want to otherwise.
Two causes of depression are money and relationships. Money because of feeling like you barely have enough to live on, and you're unable to really buy anything for yourself that you want when you're trying to pour what little you have into giving your child the best education possible. Relationships because of feeling like you're unable to find the right person or make things work, and you might not have enough money to sustain a relationship if it went well. So, those factors combined create a feeling of loneliness and hopelessness, where you really want certain things to happen but feel like they're impossible, which is upsetting and gives rise to the question of whether life is something worth living.
It sounds like you also have some feelings that what you're going through now might be something you deserve because you're unhappy with things you've done in the past. Sort of like, "I am miserable, but this is my karma. I've done a lot of things that I regret, and I guess this is just the universe punishing me, so I can't complain. I haven't been the best human being sometimes, so I guess I have no choice but to accept that it's my fate to be someone unhappy. Still though, I wish this would go away or there was some way to improve it."
