Need someone to put this in perspective for me
Hey guys, trying to put this in perspective but no luck. Basically, on a work trip with a few coworkers all around my age. It's a convention and after all the lectures and such we all go out. First night was awesome. Second night, we wind up going to a club which isn't my thing. I feel really uncomfortable (I kept noticing the people with the saddest and most depressed looks on their faces who were alone and a had a bit of there but for the grace of God go I moment). But wound up just leaving because I couldn't take it. Woke up completely depressed, can't deal with any one, wound up cutting myself and now probably going to cut this trip down by 2 days and head back myself early. What the hell happened? I can't figure out why it turned so sharply and I feel this way all of a sudden.

Hi there! I can only offer you a pretty subjective perspective on this but it might help a bit with clearing it up anyways. I always have this feeling when going to clubs (not my thing either) or just places where people are supposed to have lots of fun.. the feeling that everything in our lives is somehow deluding and fake, that we are living in ways that we don't understand ourselves, that we "fit" just because we are supposed to and it just leaves me with this bittersweet sensation of the meaninglessness of our human existence as it is. It's like we're all acting out and around but no one knows where is going and it makes me sad for humanity in general.
Now I have no idea if any of this applies to you but there has to be something, even if unconscious, that has triggered this psychological reaction.. if you want to talk more about it I'm here and I hope you're feeling better! :)
