New to group
Hi. I’m new. Been suffering from depression. On medication but need a place to express my feelings.
People today don’t care what they say or do to others. They are only thinking about themselves and don’t care who they hurt. Been told to just forget about those people and move on. All I can say is easier said than done. My head tells me what did “I” do to make this happen. I know it’s probably not my fault, but my head thinks differently.
Anyone has any suggestions to help clear my head??
thanks

Hi there, and welcome! I'm sorry to hear that you're struggling with depression and feeling like people don't care about others. It can be tough to deal with these thoughts and feelings, but it's important to remember that you are not alone.
Firstly, it's great that you are taking medication and seeking help. That's a really positive step. It's also good to find a place to express your feelings, and I'm glad you reached out here.
When you're feeling overwhelmed with negative thoughts, it can be helpful to try and focus on the things you can control. One way to clear your head is to practice mindfulness, which involves being present in the moment and accepting your thoughts and feelings without judgment. You can try deep breathing exercises or meditation, which can help calm your mind.
Another suggestion is to try journaling. Writing down your thoughts and feelings can be a powerful way to gain insight into your emotions and help clear your head. It can also help you identify patterns or triggers that contribute to your negative thoughts and feelings.
It's important to remember that it's not your fault if someone else hurts you. You are not responsible for their actions. Sometimes people can be thoughtless or unkind, but that doesn't mean you deserve to be treated poorly.
Finally, don't hesitate to reach out for professional help if you need it. There are many resources available, including therapists and support groups, that can offer additional support and guidance.
Take care!
