Does anyone ever feel any emotional numbness? Like you literally don’t feel happy or sad your just existing?

@magicalOcean594 Yea that how I feel sometimes. Last for a few weeks or months then I become really happy or really sad and the cycle repeats.

Yes, I have definitely had that happen. Wooden, emotionless. For me, it's usually a defense mechanism... afraid of negative emotions from a specific situation getting too much? Turn off all emotions. I have been able to break through the numbness and explore / confront the actual issue in therapy each time it has come up.

@wittyvillage6454 It is hard to remember that details of those times, but the last time it happened, i think it was about 2 weeks... but bear in mind, i have come far on my therapeutic journey (good therapist 7+ years, medication 10+ years).


This cycle you are describing, it's normal in that other people have gone through it as well, but it does sound like some thing you need professional help to successfully navigate to recovery.
