Past the point of sadness
I feel like I was meant to live the life I did and be done. I had a good life. Why is it wrong to be ready to go now? Yes, I have issues. A lot. And yes I'm only 21. But I've always felt I was meant to have a short life. I won't take my own, but I swear if I could donate what's left of my lifespan, I would. How do you recover from acceptance of death so young? How do I live a life when I feel I've overstayed my welcome?
Dear @ophelialost I do not think there is a right or wrong.
In my case I feel its mostly the depression telling me that and that when I start recovering from an episode that feeling is not so strong.
Do you have some energy and Are you able to travel or volunteer? Over the years I found these two things would motivate me to keep going. A short break helps to change the scene and give new perspectives.
Volunteering could be in your area or abroad.
I'm assuming you are already in therapy and have tried various avenues to treat the depression.
A book I felt helped me one time in deep darkness was Reasons to Live by Matt Haig.
May you be well and find the life force within you
Maybe I could take it day by day and find those chances where I can. I think I stress over the near future more than anything. I do okay in the moment.
One moment at a time is fine right? Slow but onwards?
I will definitely read the book - thank you <3 genuinely
@opheliawon yes surely... One moment at a time.
These times of crisis teach us that as well.
