Pity shaming... anyone relate..?

The worst downside there is to seeking help is when others shame you for "self-pitying"...

It sort of makes me not want to speak anymore...

I wonder if anyone else can relate to this post. It's one thing when you are only trying to get emotions off your chest, it's another thing whenever someone makes you feel bad for doing so...

Just got called out by an online therapist for "seeking attention"...

Are we deserving of this? I'd like someone to tell me your thoughts... it's probably not their fault, I am throwing a pity-party and it's uncomfortable. I'm just more ashamed of speaking up about things than anything, especially when people point out things about yourself that you hate... I know I'm an attention seeker.. it's one of the many reasons I'm depressed and feel worthless.... you think reminding someone how "pityful" they are serves as a good uplifting thought..? To be honest, it only makes you want to hide your head under the pillows and refuse to face anyone..

@sparklyseaweed

What makes it even more of a downfall is when you end up feeling 10 times worse after the conversation...
