Please help!
im on anti depressants which take away the chemical imbalance in my head and help the depression. Except lately I've been feelin extremely anxious and sad just feeling hopeless. I've quit a job that I have had for five years but am so much better without it and have been searching for a new job. In the mean time I attend uni two times a week but besides that I just sit at home alone. I don't really have any true friends that I can hang out with without feeling uncomfortable or crappy. I don't have any hobbies nor am I good at anything. So I've just been feeling so miserable and I know only I can change my happiness and I've been trying to but I can't :( I've been trying so so hard but I can't find any motivation. I know all the strategies to motivate myself but they aren't working can anyone please give me some other strategies!! I wanna feel good about myself and my day when I wake up, I wanna have stuff to look forward to but I don't, I wanna want to go to uni without the personal hassle and anxiety. I want to try go to gym to feel good about myself I've literally got to the point where I get changed and hop in my car and then go back inside cause I really really lack the motivation. I want to do this stuff cause I know it's good for me and will make me feel good but then the other side of my mind really doesn't let me no matter how hard I push myself. I've been feeling so sad and miserable about it lately please help
Hi. I can hear you are really struggling and really trying, but it's like you are just treading water? Maybe even feel like you are swallowing water? I wonder for how long you have been on your medication and if you regularly see your GP or psychiatrist. A change in dosage or medication might help you.
@Chiaroscuro1 that's exactly how I feel. Like I'm all for working hard for your goals but I don't even have any nor can I find motivation to help myself. I've been on my tablets for about 2 years and lately I have been thinking about changing my dosage I haven't been to my gp in a long time I was just told to take these tablets and to never go off them and when I take them o can feel a huge difference but lately I've been feel sad and unhappy again
@TryingGirl - How would you feel about going back to have your medication reassessed? Do you think that is something you can try?
I also want to share with you something that Elizabeth Gilbert said that made sense to me. She said that sometimes people are in a place where they feel so lost that it doesn't help them to tell them "follow your passion". They might not know what their passion is and it's almost like goals and passion and those kind of words put pressure on you that you really don't need and can't deal with. She said a much gentler way is to "follow your curiosity". Then there is no pressure and no expectation. You just do what you can and what you feel led to. Just wanted to share it. You do with it what feels right to you.
@TryingGirl Hang in there! I can feel your struggles and I sincerely wish you well. May you find joy, motivation and vitality.
