Psychiatric hospital and depression

Someone had that experience ?

I needed to go there to take infusions because I wasn't able to eat(bc of depression). And after that I was hospitalized because of high risk of suicide, took antidepressants etc... I've been to a psychiatric hospital too many times, often because of suicide attempts and hard self-harm.

People say that only people with psychotic depression go to the psychiatric hospital because of it, but here I am, the one who was because of MDD(Major Depressive Disorder).

What do you think about this ? Is there anyone else who had similar/same experience ?
