Ran out of meds a couple weeks ago and my depression is becoming unbearable

I've been struggling with depression since i was around 12 years old and i am now 24. It had been under control for the past three years, since 2015, after a suicide attempt landed me in the hospital and they put me on meds. Due to unforseen events, I no longer have insurance and ran out of meds a couple weeks ago. So as you can probably guess, the depression has creeped up again and it hit me like a brick. I looked everywhere, like crazy, trying to find some sort of low-cost/no insurance mental health clinic that can give me access to a psychiatrist again but i have had zero luck. I finally applied for medical but i have to wait about a month for my case to go through, or so i've read. Until then, I have no idea what to do with these feelings. It's like everything i learned about coping went down the drain. It's getting to the point again where it's hard getting out of bed, or showering, making meals, etc. I have been crying everyday for weeks and i always have a dreary feeling in my gut. What does one do in this situation? I'm really struggling. I just want to get an idea of some things i could do to make my day-to-day life easier to handle. Thank you so much for listening.

@roseblood That is a difficult situation. Is there a low cost/free clinic where you could access a primary care physician? Sometimes they do psych prescriptions.

Also, if you find yourself getting worse, could you go to an emergency room? Just knowing that

@roseblood As tips for daily living: if you can do some mindfulness exercises, they can really help. Deep breathing (with a long exhale). Some people find comfort in the idea that everything changes—we become depressed, yes, but we also become undepressed.

I was first dia with depression when I was 15, so I have seen for myself over the last 30 years that this is indeed true. And knowing I have become undepressed before, I have faith in my ability to do it again.
