Recently Diagnosed with Severe Major Depression

So recently, I went to my GP and had a talk with one of the doctors about how I've been feeling. We talked for an hour and she diagnosed me with sever major depression. We set up an appointment with a mental health nurse 4 days later, just for confirmation that it was that and not something else and the mental health nurse confirmed it. We talked about my options and it was decided that I was to be starting Prozac and possibly something else (can't remember what it's called) for anxiety this Thursday. I'm just having trouble coming to terms that I have a mental illness. I thought it was normal to be like this since I was 13 (I'm 16 now) and I always thought that my inability to do basic tasks was due to laziness. My worlds been flipped upside down and I just need some support.

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in starting like a small support group for people with major depression? There are no support groups in my area, sadly and I've been so anti social this past year, I've lost all my close friends.

I was thinking that we have like a thread of a few people (that is, if anyone is interested in doing this) and we help support and motivate each other, because I think it's a lot easier when you have someone who understands what you're going through. My family is supportive, but really has no clue how depression works and I bet other people feel the same way. Shoot me a message if this is something you'd be interested in, guys! I'll get back to you ASAP and come up with rules and guidelines and like a plan sheet.

Cheers!
