SELF-LOVE is KEY 🥰
Why doesnt anyone tell you how important self-love is?
Ive always felt that I needed others to like/love me. The truth is that we only need ourselves. Once we open our hearts and truly love ourselves, life is so much easier. Do things that make you happy! Not what others want you to do. Do things that youre passionate about! You will always find a way to make money, but happiness is so much more valuable!
Matshona Dhliwayo suggests that...
One who is happy has everything, though poor. One who is sad has nothing, though rich
And this so true. What make a person rich is happiness and love. Money doesnt make you rich, and in some cases can cause so much pain and misery.
So remember guys and gals, love yourself and create your own happiness 🥰
@Jem7Cups Thank you so much for sharing this! I agree with a lot of the things you say in this post, you've got a lot of good points I feel like people tend to gloss over. Self-love is really important
I think people need others besides themselves though, like we were made for community. Personally I know I don't need others to like me (even though I would like it if they did
), but I know to not accept love from others would totally isolate me, so I do need others in that sense! Maybe you could say seeking community is a form of self love?
I do agree that finding happiness is our own responsibility, and I agree money can't buy it!
What do you think about gratitude and seeking out things to be thankful for a way of finding happiness? I find it really helpful for me!
Have a good day!
Thank you for this. It was a good read. Self love is something that is very underappreciated
Is a nice sentiment, but lets face reality
If you have no money, you cant do shit
We always have to suck it up and do whatever it takes just to get a paycheck. Thete is no place for "being rich is being happy". I cant get money doing what i like so i have to do a bunch of bullshit just to provide for my family
This makes me so irrationally angry. I dont have anything against you, but dont sell lies to people
I think accepting and respecting myself is much easier than loving myself. When it comes to loving myself I start to question if I really love myself or if I'm just kidding myself. Am I just "loving myself" because others are telling me to? How do I even love myself? I don't even know how I show love to others. I can stand in the mirror and say "I love you" to myself, repeat affirmations, practice graditude for my mind and body, take care of my body, etc. all I want... it just never feels genuine. What is love? What does that mean? What does love feel like? I've only ever known this overwhelming feeling of happiness to be around someone but it can turn to dislike so quickly after just one argument that I hesitate to call the happiness "love". I think it's just more of a person crush like a romantic crush but without the romance. Anyway I guess I am just feeling lost on this
