Screwing up atwork...think I might be fired
I hate my job but right now it's all I have and I'm screwing up every other week. My manager sent me a wonderful email this morning about another error I had made on a file. Then I here they are interviewing someone new...
Over the past few months my work has decreased to almost busy work.
I gavent felt like such a failure in a long time. I feel alone and trapped and struggling while my friends are thriving in their careers and lives.
Can anyone empathize?
I've noticed my work load has been going down, I have been given
@Exist56 Coco Chanel once said, "Don't spend time beating on a wall, hoping to transform it into a door." Columbus was 41 when he discovered the Americas (though all has gone to crap). Henry Ford was 45 when the Ford T came out (I prefer GMC though lol). Da Vinci was 51 when he painted the Mona Lisa. You still have so much time to find your dream job and fulfill what you really want in life. I am 30 and a mechanic. It wasn't my dream job; it just sort of happened. My dream now is to be a mother. We all make mistakes and will continue to, but eventually you will find your place and be happy. :)
@TransAm85 Thanks for taking time to reply. The older I get the harder it is to keep believing that things will turn around. It's been a downward trajectory for the past 7 years.
I appreciate the sentiment but it just isn't a reality that everything will be fine and trying to convince myself of that hasn't made any of my problems better but only delayed them.
The uncertainty of things is grinding me down, so much is out of our control.
The worst thing of all is having to deal with my manager who sits about 10 feet away who just seethes with angry and spite toward me for something that is extremely inconsequential to the job (I work in graphic design and a project had a very minor change in something that she personally didnt like).
I miss the feeling that the world wasnt hostile and the future would be OK.
@Exist56 You have experience in graphic design? You could do a lot of things! If you don't like the job at this place, you could apply somewhere else. Even if this manager is an asshole, regardless the negative reference they may give, you still have a lot of experience. Not every person can just walk in and apply for a job in graphic design.
