Shame

I was doing okay while I was taking college classes and preparing my application so I can transfer into a university but since I finished I just have consistently felt overwhelming shame. A lot has happened in the past few months. I ended therapy cause my therapist was acting extremely burnt out. She was 10 or more minutes late 5 sessions in a row and was even 10 minutes late for my last session even though I had been going there for years. My dog died a few weeks back and a couple weeks ago I had an appointment with a new doctor to treat me lupus. I had to talk about the time a drug led to me developing open sores all over my body and how my skin was peeling from head to toe and how I looked like a burn victim for 3 months. Even though I’ve physically recovered I still feel so much shame from that event and it’s been so hard to deal with without therapy or my dog around. I’m not even excited about starting at a new school in the fall anymore.

I hear you , That period of your life is over now . You’re body is recovering, you need to try to get your mind of things too. Idk if it’s too soon but maybe adopt pet. Not to replace your old buddy but to give a chance for another animal to have a roof over their head and you as their caretaker. Shame (in small amounts)is a useful,it makes us to do better in life. You could not control how you looked at that point. You can take care of yourself better now tho. I mean keep your skin hydrated (hyaluronic acid moisturiser+rose hip oil works) keep yourself wearing clothes that look good,a bit of makeup (cover uneven skin tone) yeah, you can do it.Don’t feel too much shame, just enough to create a change .

Hey there. Seems to be real tough for you right now. Please stay strong, you are not alone in this trying times. Even if your life seems dark right now, there is light coming your way. I believe that you are strong enough. I believe in you! It is perfectly human to feel, even shame has its place. Try to acknowledge it, then let it go. I know it sounds like some kind of stupid self-help book tip, but you will feel better. Please stay strong! I wish you the very best
