Socially isolating myself
Two days ago I told my friend on Skype (all my friends are long distance) that I would be fine for a few weeks to basically give myself a break and have less on my plate. So I was basically not going to be talking to any of them for about a month. They all understood which I am grateful for. But while the reason I gave them was one of the reasons, there's another underlying one that is scaring me. One of the reasons I'm cutting myself off from the for a few weeks at least is because I'm suicidal. And that part of me was saying that if I don't talk to them then at least if I do it then they won't miss me as much and won't be hurt. I've been dealing with suicidal issues for months to almost a year, and they've gotten bad before. But I have never up until this point done something as almost like a prep step. And I'm quite worried. I'm confident that I'll make it through, but I'm really upset at myself for being weak and letting it make me cut myself off from my friends. I want to go back to them, but at them same time I feel like I'd just be bothering them with my venting about this.

I'm so sorry that you're feeling very poorly right now
It sounds like you are afraid and ashamed of your friend's reactions to your state of mind, so you felt like cutting them off would be better for you and for them. Do you still talk with family or have you completely isolated yourself? It's an amazing step that you have recognized what you did and why you did it. I'm happy that you feel confident that you will make it through but I also worry that you're dealing with so much right now on your own. Do you have a therapist or something to talk to about this? If you haven't sought out a professional, I would encourage it.
You also wrote that you have been dealing with suicidal thoughts for almost a year now. Did something happen for these thoughts to occur or did they just happen suddenly without any warning or explanation? I can't say whether contacting or telling your friends about this would be good or not, as it is a choice that you will have to make. However, I would suggest trying to figure out why you feel the way you do. I'd also recommend seeking out professional help, you shouldn't have to face this alone. In any case, you really aren't alone because you will always have 7cups and me to support you during this challenging time!
I hope this helped a little, take care and good luck!
