Hello everyone.

I am really scared to go to therapy and talk to someone about my mental health, my partner is getting mad at me for not going and not helping myself. I want too but I am scared, could anyone share how going to therapy was for them?

Hello,

Its true that initially, when its first time for therapy, many people get scared about whether anything will change or not and if they will be able to open up about their problems. But dont fear and dont get tensed. Therapy sessions will help you, initially to stay calm, find peace and right pace in your life. It will help you to be stable in life and get back on your track of life.Nomatter what problems you are facing, therapy can help you in the best possible way.

Take care, have a good day ahead.

I went like 2-3 years ago

You just discuss your worries and pretty much anything you need.

Anything you say is between you and the therapist. The only way anyone is getting involved is with your consent. For example there was a time the therapist suggested to bring my mom with me , I said it was ok but I had said no she wouldn't ever be there or learn anything without my permission. The first time he/she gets to know you so he/she can help you better thought the process

Good luck

Hi! I started going about a year ago and still am. I have had two different therapist. They both told me I didn't have to talk about anything I didn't want to. The first part is kind of just getting to know each other and building trust. You have every right to say things like 'I actually don't feel ready to talk about that yet' it can seem really scary at first but it does get easier and now I look forward to going every week!
