Trying to unload
I truly need to empty the emotions I have kept locked down for a very long time. I have always felt better when I was younger if I let it out through letting myself cry. At some point I forced myself to stop crying as I thought it was a weakness within me. I have supressed it for so long that I forgot how to cry and I need to. It has doubled the pressure of my depression because I have no way to let it out. I have tried writing it down, listening to sad music and when I get to the point that I feel it come on, it stops and I cannot keep that moment then I get frustrated. What are some options I can try?
I appreciate any help and Thank You
@heartbound48 I understand that you have a lot of emotions you wish to release, but can't seem to get them out. Sometimes it is hard to cry even when we need to. Especially if you have spent a long time fighting not to cry. I promise, crying is not weakness. It is natural and good for you to an extent. Writing is a good way to get emotions out, and listening to sad music or watching a tear-jerking movie can make people cry. So you're doing a good job of being active about solving the problem. That's a great strength to have in any challenge. It might take time to learn to free yourself and get the tears out, but until then the best thing you can do is to keep finding outlets for those pent up emotions. Whether it be through writing, art, talking to someone who cares, or listening to music... I truly believe you are on the right path and will be okay. Just keep trying and know that you are not alone.
