Unending Depression
Hi all, I'm new here and I'm reaching out because I am at my wit's end with my depression. I tend to go through ups and downs with my mood with much more of my time spent feeling bad than good. I've been on antidepressants in the past and none of them helped so I'm not at a point where I feel comfortable to try again with meds. But I also don't know what else to do, or where to turn.
I spend over half the year in a slump, waiting for a good day. But I feel like I'm wasting my life waiting to feel good. There's so much I still want to do, and I feel like my depression is stopping me from doing any of it. I tend to get into this vicious cycle where I'm so deep in my depression that isolate myself from the people who care about me and I stop doing the things I find enjoyment in.
I can't even find the motivation half the time to do the things I enjoy. And I'm just sick of feeling this way and needed a place to vent.

Hey,I’m glad you reached out!
Sometimes I feel worried and I try not to bum myself out. I know how you feel because there have been times in my life where I have felt overwhelming despair and sadness. The best advice I could give you is to eat healthy and keep doing the things you like. Find something to distract yourself with and have a good time with the people you love. Let them understand that you still want to be there and that you love them very much. Find gratitude in the things you love and believe in something you care about. Don’t ever be afraid to reach out and talk to someone. I recommend the listeners here, they’re great!
You can get through this, you will overcome and become stronger!
