Working makes me depressed.

I am so fed up. I started a new job today- good job, nice people, nothing at all wrong with the place... But I am currently sat at home dreading going to work tomorrow. I always feel like this with every job I have ever had. My comfort place is my home, and the idea of being in work makes me very depressed and anxious. I'm sick of feeling this way.

I've battled with depression in the past but feeling like this about work has always been an issue for me. It doesn't matter what career path I choose or what hours I work... I still feel the same. I have tried everything and I don't know what to do anymore...

@Shinebrightalways How do you feel when you're actually at work?

I experience the same dread on Sunday nights. Sometimes it's crippling, though it's gotten better over the last year. Mostly because when I track my mood at home and at work, my mood is almost always better when I'm actually working. My mind is focused on something else, and I'm interacting with people, often feeling really good about what I do. Whereas at home, I'm quite sure I'm the worst ever at my job and that tomorrow is going to be awful, that I'm forgetting something important, that things are going to go horribly wrong.

So when I feel that way, I can remind myself that I usually actually feel better at work, and just ride the waves of anxiety.

I know there's also a chance you actually don't enjoy work itself, either.... But isolating isn't known for making depression go away, so in my book, it's better to be depressed and contributing in some way, than depressed and isolated. (Even though sometimes I REALLLLY want to be isolated. I have this fantasy about a tiny cabin with a garden by a lake, and no visitors.)

I've always dreaded going to school (right now i'm in high school) and today it started again. I thought this school year was going to be different and that I would want to be present in my enviorment instead of wishing I was at home,or not dread the thought of waking up for school in the morning. The first two weeks of school that feeling never emerged to the surface and I thought that i had temporarily won. But today I woke up with that feeling in my stomach and it won't go away. Last year was the worst year of my life and everyday I woke up wishing time would just stop so that way i didn't have to go school. I want to be like a "normal" teenager and worry about boys and makeup. Not depression. I've been trying really hard to be patient with myself, but it's never enough. No matter what I do to try to ease my depression or deal with the anxieties of school, it always comes back and hits me like a ton of bricks.

It is an interesting and unusually for me. My work helps me to overcome depression. I can say, that when I am sad, or when I have some private problems, I try to plunge into work. I try to set myself a goal, then I achieve it. I forget about depression this way. For example, my girl threw me. It was hard for me. I started to work hard. I decided that I would work more to buy my car. I dreamed of an SUV from https://www.troyarmoring.com/ . I collected money and bought my dream car. I got rid of depression after parting thanks to my work too.
