depression?
I've felt really down for the past couple years and parents/friends have told me it's just a phase and it's just because of school or different stressors. I totally get that, but I never really feel happy or excited for anything anymore. growing up I had a really hard time making friends (still do to this day) and once high school started, I made friends ok but none really stayed around for more than a year at a time. I've tried eating healthier, going out more and going to the gym which has helped a lot but I still have moments where I know I'm supposed to be happy or having fun but I either can't make myself be in the "right mood" or relax enough to try and enjoy anything. I don't intent to bring myself down in front of my friends but I guess I do it a lot because I remember a friend once told me that I talk more shit about myself than she has heard any one talk about anyone else I can't help but feeling like my friends and family are moving on with their lives and enjoying all the parts of it, but I am really not and it feels like I am almost stuck. I just want to be able to enjoy my life and university but am unsure of how to do that. I would really appreciate any tips or advice. My parents have told me before that this is just a phase in my life and it will be over eventually, but I started feeling this way in about grade 7 so I'm not sure if I'm just supposed to wait this out and hope for the best or what to do...so here I am🤷🏼♀️

I don't know how old you are, but let me tell you, when I was in college, suffering from severe depression, I hid it from my parents and at my job. My friends knew something was wrong, but no one can make you talk to a counselor or a.doctor. I've struggled for years to confine and control my depression. I wish I'd talked to my folks about it sooner and that I'd tried to help myself sooner. Living in misery is a good way to ruin your life. Yes, you can fumble through it and yes, there are food ans great days, but hiding it won't make it go away. Get help if you can. I really hope you do.
