peer support work
feel like this may be in a random place sorry i have depression amd am sad but anyway
i want to be a peer support worker (someone who has gone through mental health and a service and then helps others wihin the national health services and supports them.
today i did my first part of the peer employment/education program. and i have another one on thursday. i really enjoyed it and having a job like that would give me so much purpose and help with my own mental health.
it leads to group interviews & then more training if they like you after group interviews.
but like over 35 people signed up and they can only carry about 10 to have 121 interviews.
and just by observing i felt like i def wont be one of them. i felt the youngest there. i am 20. but everyone else was looked like they was 30s-50s and would be more stable and more clever than me. so feel like i will get no where with it.
but really want a job & sounds like only job id enjoy as is helping people with your own experience
and life is just shit.
and no point in this post just wanted to write it
and feel like dying

Hey straightforward.
I understand, by getting this job it would give you a sense of purpose and accomplishment. You sound so motivated and driven, seeing this they could look at you favourably
If not, there are so many more jobs you could apply, the great thing is you know what kind of job you would like to do! I am here to listen, you can pm me if you like.
Take care!

Field, you seem beautiful and I would like to be your friend. Know that every soul you help counts no matter how big or small. Perhaps if your job interview doesn't turn out well you can be a listener here on 7cups :)
