Alienation
I have nice friends and family. A house over my head and a generally comfortable life. I am a hard worker and I tend to overwork myself, but when it comes to talking to people, I feel as if I am never present. I feel like I'm never anywhere and that I'm just a ghost. I feel like a stranger in my own home and in other people's lives. The same goes both ways. Not a lot of people know much about me, and I more often than not, am a lone wolf even if I'm surrounded by my friends. I feel like I've never met someone who has really understood me in a deeper level. Or maybe I'm just not trying. But then again, I find it both emotionally and mentally exhausting to know more about people because people just come and go in my life and it's too difficult trying to get to know them better.

Hi! I can relate to many of your words, I felt this way for many years.
It sounds like you have a lot of good practical things in your life you are grateful for, but no real human connection? Which is important as we are social creatures. 🤗 We learn how to connect with people in our first years of life, and many of us don't get the right opportunities at that time and don't learn how.
Do you feel uncomfortable sharing your thoughts and feelings with other people? Do you have confidence in who you are as your own person? I didn't learn to do those things til quite late in life, I still find it exhausting being around other people but as I get more confident in being myself, I find it easier. That is my experience, yours might be different.
How are you doing now, have you been connecting with people here?
