Hello I am reaching out to try to find some help. My boss/friend Found this app for me and thought it would be helpful because I’ve been leaning on her way too much she is a new mother And also owns the business I manage for her. It’s a franchise of a well-known brand and we own two restaurants of this brand. I’ve been dealing with anxiety most of my life but it has really taken a turn for the worse with a little mild case of depression ever since I lost my mother unexpectedly to Cancer last year. I am also epileptic So sometimes panic attacks and the seizures I get confused on what I’m having. I am currently on some anxiety medication but I am not a fan of prescription drugs. Right now there is some conflict going on at work and I feel like I’m lashing out on our employees When I feel like I’m not, these younger teenage kids are a little bit softer and I try to keep a positive work environment but I have been very stressed because I literally have been working so much because the world is understaffed right now but this is also my best friend business and I helped her start from the ground up eight years ago I even worked around my mom’s funeral because the day my mom died everyone at our two stores pulled the Covid card and left. I thought it was a good distraction working around my mom’s death but now I regret it because I feel like I didn’t get them mourn properly my boss/friend is one of my close friends but even me and her have had some issues with our work Relationship. She came to me with some other managers that work for us and had a sit down with me And told me the issues and suggested this app to kinda help me threw this…. so this is just me reaching out and seeing what this is all about …..that’s my story

Hi @cardinal420 ,

Welcome to 7cups! Glad to have you here.

I'm sorry for your loss and for how challenging things are right now. Losing a parent is really hard, and I know how the pandemic is making everything so much harder. We need time to heal from such a huge loss. It sounds like your friend has a lot she needs to work through right now, but she also really cares and wants you to get the support you need. You mentioned not getting the opportunity to properly mourn due to work and it sounds like you've been really busy at work normally as well - and I understand that you're doing the best you can. There's so much on your plate right now, and it's amazing how you're so responsible and supportive despite your own circumstances.

You also mentioned having some long-term health concerns that seem to have gotten more bothersome lately, and that understandably makes things even more stressful. I am not qualified to provide any medical advice, but I think a professional would be able to support you with various options in regards to your health.

It sounds like you've been feeling agitated and have been having difficulties interacting with others lately, and I really understand where that agitation is coming from with how challenging things have been for you. When things get so hard and we're navigating how to cope, there may be times where we get a bit tripped up by our challenges. Also, you've been working really hard during this time - have you been able to do some things for self-care? We're only human and we can only do so much when we've drained ourselves. We also need to recharge to be able to continue doing what we do.

I'm glad you've reached out, and it's really brave of you to take this step. There are a lot of great listeners around, and sometimes just talking can really help with sorting through your emotions. <3
