Love lost

Well, I am kinda at a loss.
It's been almost 5 years since me and my ex wife divorced, but lately she's been on my mind alot, and in my dreams.
It's an awful feeling,and keeps reminding me that I will never truly be over her no matter how hard I try to push all these emotions away.
I stay out of her life, I don't look up her social media accounts and just wholeheartedly wish her happiness.

I just really needed to vent.
And I wish I could to her, but that would just make things worse.

Hey there ❤️

Im really sorry you feel like this lately and I cant imagine how hard it must be which is why posting it here is a good idea, it always good to get it out of your chest. Its ok to feel like this and Youre not alone in this. You also should be proud of yourself for doing everything you can to keep the distance between you too, youre doing yourself a great favor. In the end, it hurts to let go but sometimes its hurts even more to hold on. Pushing your emotions away is a temporary solution and might not be enough in the long term. Youre strong, you can do this and youll find happiness again, Im sure of that. Time and people will heal you. In the meantime, take care ❤️

@EllieJays

It's just the way things go from time to time.

I'e been in other relationships since my divorce, but it isn't the same.

You get three great loves in your life, and she was my third.

Hi, thank you for sharing your story here! I definitely get it how missing someone special can makes us feel so lonely even in other aspects of your life? But healing in this one aspect can bring peace to the remaining of our life as well. Have you tried connecting with one of our listeners here? We have many wonderful listeners who know a lot about relationships who can empahize with you. Or even a therapist. Simply talking it out, i.e. releasing the emotions may really help (it usually does for me, but it might be the type of person I am).

Or perhaps there is something unresolved from your past relationship that is holding you back, keeping you from moving on? Again, talking about issues with someone might help you find out what the core problem is-- sometimes a big part of solving the problem is to know what it is.
