im not really used to this kind of thing but i thought i’d give it a try because nothing else really seems to be helping.

basically i have suffered from depression and anxiety since the age of four (i am eighteen now) but despite that have had a pretty decent life objectively. i have friends and a partner who loves me but i still always feel so lonely. i find myself avoiding hangouts or doing things because i just feel like deep down everyone is annoyed by me. they assure me they are not but no matter what they say i just always feel this sinking feeling in my chest that’s suffocating. i can’t feel anything but this heavy weight on my chest like someone is sitting on me. i don’t know how to fix it. there is no reason for me to feel this way but for some reason i’m still miserable beyond belief.

I'm really glad you reached out, even though it's not something you're used to doing. It takes courage to open up and seek support, and I'm here to listen and help in any way I can.

It sounds like you've been dealing with depression and anxiety for a significant portion of your life, and I can understand how challenging and exhausting that can be. It's important to remember that mental health struggles can affect anyone. Even though you have friends and a loving partner, it's understandable that you still can experience feelings of loneliness and self-doubt.

It's common for people with depression and anxiety to have negative thoughts and beliefs about themselves, even when those around them express care and support. These thoughts can create a heavy weight on your chest, making it difficult to fully enjoy or engage in social activities. Remember that these feelings are not a reflection of your worth or how others truly perceive you.

While I'm here to listen and provide support, it's important to consider reaching out to a mental health professional as well. They can offer guidance and expertise tailored to your specific needs. Therapy or counselling can be incredibly beneficial in helping you explore these feelings, challenge negative thought patterns, and develop strategies to cope with your depression and anxiety.

In the meantime, it might be helpful to practice self-care activities that bring you comfort and peace. Engaging in hobbies, spending time in nature, practising mindfulness or meditation, or even journaling your thoughts and emotions can provide some relief. Additionally, confiding in trusted friends or loved ones about what you're going through can help them better understand and support you.

Remember, you don't have to face this alone. Seeking support and reaching out for help is a courageous step towards finding healing and well-being. You deserve to feel better, and there are resources available to assist you along this journey ❤️

You are already starting to fix it by opening up and coming here. It is nearly impossible to do this on your own. What kinds of people do you have in your own life who might be able to help?@minivan343
