lonely and in need of friends

I've had the same 2 friends for 10 years, I hardly speak to them and I am extremely lonely, I need ideas to make new friends. I live in a rather isolated area and work with older women, I need an activity I can look for that will put me in contact with young people (in their 20s). Anyone help??

I saw a forum thread in this subcommunity that might be just for you!
Also, have you tried discussing with someone, for example, a friend, and counselor, or a 7cups listener about your situation? Talking to someone else might help you gather some ideas. How come it is hard for you to meet people of your own age? How about befriending older people, etc.?
