Caring About What Others Think
How can I not care about what other people think? I know some people do it all the time, so why can’t I?
@TealSkies8354 good question indeed. It is only natural for you to give thought to what people think of you , or even to worry about it as being part of society we are constantly surrounded by people and interact with them. But I hope you are not overwhelmed or consumed by it. What people think of you is their assumption or choice but who you are , your choices and behavior is within your power. When we live in a community , occasionally we make adjustments to accomodate each other. This practise helps us to cultivate our own values like compasssion, tolerance and respect
I have struggled with this for a while. Often I compare myself to others. It's from how I grew up. I working on my self esteem and confidence
It's really hard at times to not care what people think. We all want to be validated, loved and accepted. And it is hard when other people do not have understanding in them. Your true value and worth comes from within you. And as you learn and continue to recognize that, it will get easier for you not to care so much what other people think of you.
I would always think that people don't like me. What helped me "You can't read minds and people can't read yours" and I would start asking myself why do I think that people think this way about me. Mostly I would just work on myself. If I wouldn't feel comfortable with myself, how should others?
