Depression and forgetfulness?

I have been struggling with depression since middle school, and after many years I am now a university student, and my depression isn't as severe anymore. However, I recently became aware of how bad my memory is. Like, I couldn't remember details that happened months ago but my friends could. And I have trouble remembering conversations, not necessarily word for word, but the contents of it in a more general sense. Do you have the same issues? Is there any way to improve this?

My memory seems really bad too. I rarely remember past events in any detail at all. I just know that they happened.

My short term memory is pretty spotty too, I'm always forgetting to turn things off after I'm finished with them.

My memory is bad also. Very short term just about doesn't exist. Regular short term is spotty. Long term really depends. Is it the stress that comes from depression. Or the depression causing the stress. It seams the more stress I'm under the less memory I have.
