Has anyone else felt numb or unable to feel excited about things that actually brought you joy. Anyone feel hallow or unable to laugh or feel true to themselves. If so how did you break out of it and shine? Did you try to get on medication and did it help? Will this feeling pass and I shall find laughter again?

Ive been feeling like that for a few years. Ive tried vitamins and supplements and therapists, but I havent found anything that helps. My best advice though, is get yourself a good creative outlet. That has been by far the most successful thing Ive tried, whether it be drawing, painting, dancing, singing, etc., finding an outlet is the best thing I have found. @Bubbleoak

I feel numb most of the time. I don't know what I feel or how to describe it, but it's just a constant emptiness that won't go away. I haven't tried meds but I'm seriously considering it. Things that improve my mood are listening to music, watching TV shows or movies I love, coloring, puzzles, cuddling with my cat. Although the cloud hanging over me is ever-present, even when doing things I usually enjoy, this does help a little.

I cut myself the other day because I just wanted to feel something. It didnt hurt, it felt good. But looking at it scanning and trying to hide it from friends and family makes me feel even worse about myself. It makes me disappointed in myself.

I've been having the same issue for a year now since my father figure died. I really hope you find a solution. I'd rather have the crying all the time form of depression. Being numb is awful. I like the idea above of finding a creative outlet. Might try that.
