Ending a friendship while depressed?
Hello everyone,
Has anyone ever felt the need to let go of someone while going through a bad time? I ended a friendship earlier this year because I felt like my friend didn't make much of an effort to see me while I was depressed back in December. She had went through a similar situation earlier that year and I was hoping that she would be
Be there for me as I was with her. We had an argument through text and I pretty much ended the friendship after that. I now feel bad because I feel as though I shouldn't have ended it so abruptly. Had anyone been in a similar situation or does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions to this situation? It would be greatly appreciated.

I think she'll understand if you explain that your perceptions were being influenced by the depression. She's been there herself so should understand, I think. I try to keep in mind when people don't reply to me right away that they could be in the same boat as me dealing with feeling very overwhelmed or could just be so busy with other things they didn't notice that it was that badly needed....or it could have been a result of me not keeping in touch with them as much from lack of the energy to do so. I hope your friendship continues as you'd like it to.
