Does anyone have any tips on how to stop overthinking? Sometimes, I overthink too much, that I convince myself that my thoughts are true. Does anyone have any tips? )):

@sensitiveField2863 Hi. You might want to look into mindfulness meditation and mindfulness practices. That can get you into recognizing the nature of thought.

Briefly, a thought, especially if it is a troubling thought gets our attention. Our mind is designed to take “danger” seriously. (By danger, I mean any threat, even one’s like, “I think my coworkers do like me.” ) Once you’re on this thought alert other troublesome thoughts bubble up. You follow this “thought train” and if you are not aware you are on it, it’s hard to jump off. Mindfulness practice can help you get off the thought train.

Thank you ((: I remember my therapist telling me about this a couple years ago. They certainly helped! Can't believe I forgot about this haha. Hopefully, it will help me again this time.

It really is a tough one. I try very hard to distract myself. One of my favorite things is doing an online jigsaw puzzle. They don't take as long because the pieces are all right side up to begin with. But you get lots of those moments of "I will never find where that piece goes" or "I can't do this" and then suddenly you find exactly what you thought wasn't possible. It helps with the intrusive thoughts because you realize how wrong your reactions really are. @sensitiveField2863

Thanks ((: it's kinda hard now that I've lost my passion for what I used to love doing. Maybe I'll think of something else to keep me busy

That happened to me too. I had to keep trying all sorts of things for a week or two to find new things that helped. Then eventually the older stuff became more pleasurable again. But the process is quite frustrating. @sensitiveField2863
