How do I stay motivated
There are days that I wake up feeling okay and happy and motivated to do certain things but than other days I'm just so unmotivated to do anything leaving me hopeless and feeling like I just want to stop living.
I don't want to feel this way anymore because its slowly killing me from the inside and I just want to start living a happy life
I'd really appreciate all suggestions and help. Thank you
@lisagriffids I know the feeling.
One thing thats been helping me is that when I am having these thoughts or these moments I try to take out time throughtout the day (or when i remember honestly lol ) to find at least one thing I'm grateful for even if its getting my favorite cup of coffee or my favorite cookie.
Also post-it notes or paper taped up to walls at various places as reminders - I have post-its in my bathroom to remind me to find something to be grateful for or something in the kitchen to remind me to have a glass of water or to even eat. Some post-its are something I like about myself. You can honestly make a game where you can put a note somewhere each day or anytime you have an intrusive thought.
Its ok to feel not great also, it sucks to be in thoes moments becuase it seems to stick around so long and very few moments of "happy moments". I hope this helps a bit.
@emotionalLion8201 I also forgot .... step outside even if you are feeling shitty, even if you cant go much then to your front door or sidewalk or something but step outside in the sun. it helps
@lisagriffids
Hey, I'm sorry you're feeling that way. it's definitely understandable. Please know you're not alone, we're here for you. There are days when we don't feel like doing anything. What do you think triggers you to lose all your motivation for the day?
@talkswithariba
Whenever I'm planning on doing something for the day like maybe exercising than I just feel like a failure and like its pointless to exercise and its not gonna help or do anything and thats when I lose my motivation
@lisagriffids
I see. Well, what is the purpose of your exercising? Is it to lose weight? To feel better? More energized?
Once you have decided what's the main purpose of your exercise, and how it can benefit you in the long run, maybe then you could look for strategies to help you stay motivated. You could consider listening to motivational videos, or just planning out your day the day before, specifying a time when you'll be working out or maybe you could also consider getting a workout buddy!
I hope that helped.
Take care.
