Hi, I just joined 7 cups because I cant go to therapy, my parents say they dont think I need it and they dont really care. I dont wanna auto-diagnose depression, everything Ive read on the internet about it, I can relate on some level but how do you really know?

@Pross

I can't really say much on this because neither do I have access to professional help and such- but I suppose it's just a matter of fact of not lying to yourself and actually facing the truth about it.

If you're feeling numb, sad, unsatisfied, and/or hysteric with a feeling that you legitimately can not continue on then, yes, you probably are depressed. If you can tick off the required amount of symptoms, without being biased and/or being influenced, then chances are likely.

Try to be honest with yourself- if this feeling has been consistant and in the back of your mind for a few weeks, then try finding any sources available.

Some schools / jobs offer some kind of therapy/councelling to can help you for the short-term if things get bad- try to get professional help as soon as you can.

There are multiple hotlines that are accessible: https://www.cocoonais.com/mental-health-hotlines-worldwide/

If you consistantly ask your parents for the help that you need, they might actually open their eyes. If not, reach out to other family relatives, friends, authorities etc. Get your own once you reach the age to get your own access.

I am not professional, and experiences are always different for every individual- please only take my message as my opinion. Stay safe, you're not alone ^^.

@alexelle also just thinking of the feeling/symptom itself and not immediately putting a label on it.
