Long term depression.
I have a question for people who have been dealing with depression for a while.
Does it ever get better? With time, effort, medication, therapy, and etc... Is it manageable?
I know it depends on the person when it comes to the method. I know that it isn't something that can be 'cured'... but is it better? Is it not as painful?
I'm having a hard time convincing myself that treatment would be worth it when I have no one around me who can tell me if it is or isn't.

Yes, they get better and recovery is real you can read or watch on YouTube some stories to people suffered from depression and find way to survive keep theire lives back
every person have his own recovery path it depend at many things, the type of your depression, triggers you have to deal with; challanges in your daily life, sometimes antideperssions it is not enough then the your doctors can tell you what kind of therapy you need besid taking MEDs
it is worth to try, believe me don't quit

Hi!
I've had depression for a while and known people with depression for a while - everyone is vastly different in the way they experience it and deal with it. So before I jump into my own experiences - please know that no two people are ever the same.
Yes, it does get better. Things do become more manageable. For me, I like the metaphor of 'the black dog'. It follows me around and I work hard so that it doesn't interrupt my life. Every now and then there are times where it's all I focus on and think about - and yet there are other days it doesn't cross my mind. It's just something I have.
It's common and normal to want a 'cure' but in reality there isn't one for depression. While people may experience a bad episode and not have one again, there is no immunity. Therapy, medications and good support can help though so that it's not so intense. For me personally, I'm not sure where I'd be without therapy. It's about learning and getting as many tools as you can so it doesnt have to overpower you.
