Losing interest and pleasure
I’ve struggling with depression since 2018, it’s been a hard time. Antidepressants have helped, but in the long run they slowly become not good. I’m in a long term relationship with my boyfriend of 1 year and 5 months. I love him and I couldn’t imagine my life without him. But I feel like I may have fallen out of love without any reason at all. I researched to see what might have been the cause of it and I found anhedonia, it’s common with people who suffer from depression. I don’t think it has anything to do with my current relationship as we are mostly happy and only started fighting when under stress (only verbally to each other, but very rare and we could both be as bad as each other. I don’t know if people will be able to advise me, but I’d like to know what should I do? My boyfriend struggles a lot himself and I want to be there to support him because without me, he’d probably a breakdown and struggle a lot alone. I know I need to focus on myself, but he has stood by me through all my struggles and I can’t leave him because of my feelings changing. At times I feel the spark is there and sometimes it isn’t, so it is very confusing. I’d appreciate any support or advice. Thanks :)
hey, @Torzzmcc, I feel your depression. It is a struggle to find pleasure in anything, including in the relationship, when suffering from depression. You're not alone. I also feel little pleasure in my current situation. Right now, I find that being there for others is what helps me cope with my depression. Although I can't help you, just know that we are here with you and for you.
