Sensitivity to noise

I am extremely sensitive to noise. Noise makes me anxious, and the more noise the more anxious I am. It doesn't take much either. A phone ringing makes me feel like my head will explode. When two people are carrying on a conversation outside of my office, I want them to shut up so badly. If two converstions are going on near me at the same time, my mind tries automatically to pay attention to both at the same time, and it drives me crazy. I crave silence, and silence is the only thing that rids me of my anxiety. Does anyone else feel this way?

i get a similar thing, when i'm experiencing a lot of anxiety i need to find quiet. everything can seem way too loud and close (even when it's not)

i would suggest reading about sensory overload (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sensory_overload)

and misophonia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Misophonia)

i have a friend with misophonia and even the sound of someone eating makes her feel terrible. you're definitely not alone!

good luck
