I think I need to look into being on anti- depressant medication. How do I go about doing this? Can someone share their stories about their med journey? I just don't feel like I can do this on my own anymore.

I recommend seeing a psychiatrist, you can see your general doctor first to get a referral to someone. They will help you determine if anti-depressents are the route to go. My therapist described depression and medication to me in a really great way once, she said when you're depressed it feels like you're drowning. The medication helps keep you afloat, but you yourself need to work towards swimming back to shore. I hope this helps!

Besides what people above me said, you shouldn't take for granted any med someone else besides your psychiatrist prescribes you. These meds are given for specific, individual needs and what worked for some may not work for you or even do worse.

Do not fear seeing a psychiatrist. You might realize you are more in control than you think you are. Fingers crossed!
