Unable to get medication

If privacy is a concern your family doctor may be willing to keep it confidential. Many locations have laws that protect patient privacy even between family members unless you've claimed to be suicidal (in which case they'd be required by law to tell anyone else in the process of helping you not to be). You could ask to get an appointment for something unrelated and then ask for a refill while you're talking to the doctor in private and perhaps tell them you don't want your parents to know so they don't assume that parents already know about the situation. Some types of prescriptions though are able to be filled by the drug store contacting the physician without you needing to go back to see them in person...though if you aren't covered during the summer and the doctor didn't add enough refills on your student plan to get you through summer they should have at least discussed with you how you'd be covered for it right up to graduation time if need be. I'm hoping this isn't a case of your school's doctor not being irresponsible in prescribing then not informing patients how to ensure they don't run out in situations like this.

Depending on the medication it may not be a huge amount. I'm covered at the moment by a plan but I looked at the cost/fees for mine if it wasn't covered and in Canada it's only $23 CAD a month for the one I'm on at 10mg a day.
